Metasearch: EBSCO - Discovery Service

Fast searching in a unified index containing several databases including the library catalogue of the University of St. Gallen.

EBSCO Discovery Service offers you a single access point  to searching a vast range of our library's resources. In addition to the library holdings you can search in thousands of journals and in all EBSCO databases. Furthermore, content from Web of Science and from SourceOECD is also part of the new index. The search functionalities are consistent with EBSCOhost - an interface well-known and used for years at the University of St. Gallen.

Many of us are waiting for a «one stop-shopping» solution, but even with EBSCO Discovery Service we are not quite there. Several databases are not contained in the large index, not least because of competitive reasons:

• ProQuest (ABI/Inform Complete, Sociological Abstracts u.a.)
• WISO
• Lexis/Nexis

Databases that are not text-based, e.g. company information, financial  and statistical databases are also not searchable.

As a guest you may get access to the EBSCO Discovery Service as well. Please bear in mind that only non-commercial content (e.g. library catalogue) is available.
