The association “RISE Management Research” has the objective to support scientifically relevant management research on the topic of the commercialization of science and technology.

It sees itself as a complementation of the traditional academic management research as well as an entrepreneurial research platform, enabling managers, entrepreneurs, established firms and new ventures to participate actively in the interdisciplinary research process and in the debate of international management research.

This type of management research should lead to innovative insights, a relevant research agenda, robust knowledge, which has an impact on the international academic discourse. At the same time, relevant knowledge is produced for management practice, as a basis for a fundamental reflection on management and entrepreneurship in the context of the commercialization of science and technology.

With this resolutions today the “RISE Management Research” Association was founded.

Founding members are: Daniel Bartl, Daniela Blettner, Marcos García Pedraza, Dr. Simon Grand, Philipp Tuertscher, and Matthäus Urwyler.

To the Managing Board were elected: Dr. Simon Grand (president), Daniel Bartl (executive director), Stefan Arn (CEO of Adnovum, rep of a software venture), Paul Nakagaki (Head of R&D Strategy, Hoffmann La Roche, rep of a healthcare corporation), and Tom Widmann (Founder of Actelion, rep of a biopharmaceutical venture).
