Institutes and Centers
Our university is primarily influenced by our 42 institutes, research institutes and centers. They complement our five schools which teach and carry out research.
In terms of funding, concept and personnel, the institutes and research institutes are linked with our university. However, for the most part they are run as independent units that are run as businesses. They are particularly involved in applied research, further education and providing services.
Cross-institutional and interdisciplinary
The HSG Centers are partnerships between our institutes and research institutes. The goal is to work jointly across institutes and in an interdisciplinary manner on selected issues that are highly relevant to society. Our HSG Centers are virtual centers.
The largest business school
We are one of Switzerland’s smaller universities, but at the same time are home to central Europe's biggest business school.
We have 32 institutes and research institutes that are affiliated with us, but most of these are managed independently and as businesses.
The HSG centres are partnerships between our institutes and research institutes. Where key issues are concerned, the centres work together on an interdisciplinary basis.
