RISE Colloquium

The RISE Colloquium is a workshop format, aimed at discussing important positions in management research, relevant for the conceptual and empirical research conducted at RISE. In particular, this format intends to relate current research projects in RISE with relevant academic debates, as well as to establish a shared theoretical and epistemological understanding of important academic positions. Every workshop is first gathered around a specific literature stream or research debate that is discussed during the session (based on the in-depth discussion of important academic papers); second, a current research or paper project is discussed. The RISE Colloquium takes place every month at the first Thursday (except the month where the Company Workshops take place, see below), from 2:30 pm to 6 pm at the University of St. Gallen HSG. Accredited to participate are all RISE members (individual and company members, see Joining Script) and the RISE Research Team. External participants are admitted by invitation (including affiliated professors, doctoral students and partner companies that have particular interests in the area of a distinctive session).

RISE Company Workshops

The objective of the RISE Company Workshops is to discuss our current research with our company partners and members. On the one hand, this workshop format aims at informing practitioners about theoretical perspectives, important phenomena, major insights and interesting issues we discover in our research. On the other hand, RISE Company Workshops are a valuable opportunity for bringing the rich experience of our company partners into our scientific debate. The RISE Company Workshops take place on the first Thursday every February, June, and October, from 2:30 pm to 6 pm at one of the sites of RISE's partners or at the University of St. Gallen. Accredited to participate are all RISE members (individual and company members, see Joining Script).

Events

Besides its participation in Academic Conferences such as the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management, or the Annual Conference of the Strategic Management Society, RISE and its members actively participate in both in specific academic events and business events related to its empirical focus as co-organizers, speakers, or participants.

Lectures

Besides research, another important objective of RISE is teaching. Through lectures, primarily in the graduate and PhD programs at the University of St Gallen HSG, RISE attempts to translate important insights and results of its research into class and management practice.
