From Rise

RISE Management Research contributes to management research. It focues on the fields of strategic management and entrepreneurship in the context of innovation and change. Our approach to management research is characterized by the following research approach and working mode:

  • RISE Management Research focuses on research questions and issues, which are identified in close collaboration with experienced entrepreneurs and managers in order to increase the robustness of the individual research projects;
  • RISE Management Research concentrates on a limited number of empirical settings in order to ensure an in-depth, intimate understanding of particular scientific, technological, industrial and business contexts (Empirical Focus);
  • RISE Management Research conducts in-depth single case studies and small sample comparative case studies in order to gain detailed, intimate insights into the firm-specific, idiosyncratic strategy making of these companies;
  • RISE Management Research contributes to strategy research, in particular to the research on strategy process, strategic change, strategy practice and strategic entrepreneurship (Research Focus, References).
  • RISE Management Research builds on particular epistemological, theoretical and epistemological approaches in the social sciences, which question taken-for-granted concepts and develop unconventional perspectives (Perspectives).

Our research is continuously discussed in a community of experienced researchers, entrepreneurs and managers (Joining Script, Workshops, Publications). Furthermore, major insights are shared with a broader audience in presentation and teaching formats (Events, Lectures).
