From Rise
RISE Management Research is an association of researchers, entrepreneurs and managers. It is a research platform for the study of strategic management and entrepreneurship, in the context of technological innovation, business creation and company development (References). RISE Management Research explicitly focuses on management research, based on the premise of in-depth, scientific description, interpretation and explanation of important phenomena and open issues, and provides relevant insights and robust knowledge for entrepreneurs and managers, researchers and students.
In particular, RISE Management Research addresses these topics through an ongoing, disciplined, scientific discourse among a community of experienced and specialized personalities (Community) from academia and practice, from entrepreneurial companies and established corporations, from technical disciplines and the social sciences (Research). RISE Management Research creates and advances a robust, but reflexive body of scientific knowledge on the successful creation and entrepreneurial management of companies and businesses in the context of uncertainty and ambiguity, inherent in scientific research and technological innovation (References, Perspectives). We currently focus our empirical research on innovation and change in the context of software engineering / information technology, Pharma / life sciences and artificial intelligence / cognitive sciences.
RISE Management Research provides an electronic platform for the exchange of important insights (Community) as well as for the communication of important perspectives in the areas of strategic management and entrepreneurship. RISE Management Research holds company workshops and research colloquia (Workshops (http://www.rise.ch/blog/index.php?cat=3)) for the discussion of ongoing research and publication projects (Projects, Publications), current management literature (References) and insights from related fields of the social sciences (Perspectives), as well as the advancement of a joint research agenda. RISE Management Research provides unconventional teaching formats and research seminars, as well as public events like workshops, lectures or symposia as part of its activities (Events (http://www.rise.ch/blog/index.php?cat=2), Lectures (http://studynet.unisg.ch/lms-lmm/firstPermitted.do?ignoreTimeout=true)), to share and further develop its insights in interaction with a broader audience.
